Kids Ministry

Kids Ministry at Crosspoint Church include children ages 0-11 (preschool – 5th grade). At every age, it is our desire to partner with the home as we invest in the next generation. The mission for Kids Ministry is consistent with our church’s overall mission, to make disciples of all people for God’s glory. We’ve taken this mission and tailored it to Kids Ministry to express our desire to partner with families in making disciples of the next generation. We are convinced that scripture calls parents to be the primary discipler of their children, so we want to come alongside and help you in this incredible role that God has given you.

Child Safety

Background Checks – All Kids Ministry volunteers are current covenant church members who have been carefully screened and trained and have successfully passed a current background check.

Security Tags – Every time you check your child in, we will print them a name tag and give you a corresponding nametag that you will show your child’s teacher when you come to pick them up. This is how we can ensure we get the right children back to the right people. Each child must be picked up by an adult (18yrs or older) and show the correct corresponding nametag to their teacher.

Partnering with Families

What do we mean when we say that we want to partner with families? In Deuteronomy 6, God charged Moses to deliver a message to the Israelites. He charged them to be faithful to worship God alone, to love him with all their heart, soul, and might, and to teach their children to do the same. This charge was not given only to the priests or to Moses, but to each of the households of Israel. This idea is repeated clearly in Psalm 78, where the psalmist exhorts us to teach our children about who our God is in order that they would grow up to then teach their children.

The family is clearly a significant component in God’s strategy to see the message of the gospel reach the ends of the earth. This task has been given to you, and we want to encourage, resource, and support you in it.

Nursery

Nursery ministers to children birth – 3 years during Sunday morning worship services. During the nursery hour, children play in a safe environment, hear a Bible lesson from the Gospel Project Curriculum, and sing together. A goldfish snack and water is provided for one, two and three year olds. Infants and crawlers are given a bottle or a snack if provided by the parents. Our desire is for all young children to be well cared for and to experience the love of Christ while their families attend worship.

Kids Worship

Kids Worship ministers to children 4 years – 3rd grade, and meets during each Sunday morning worship service. Please plan to arrive about 10-15 minutes prior to the start of the service so you can check them in at our kids check-in counter. Once they are checked in and receive a security tag, they will join you in the auditorium for the singing portion of our worship service and be dismissed to go to their classrooms before the sermon begins. Our incredible team of volunteers looks forward to engaging your kids with the Word of God as they teach them through the scriptures using the Gospel Project Curriculum. This curriculum walks our children through the Bible over a three-year period.

Kids Connection

Kids Connection is a high-energy discipleship program for kids 4yrs-5th grade. On Sunday nights from 5:00-7:00 PM, we worship together through song, play games, eat dinner, and engage kids in the scriptures using the Gospel Project Curriculum.

Our classes are divided by age and grade. Each class is led by several trained volunteers who love the Lord and love to mentor and teach children.

DNOW 2020

We are excited for your student(s) to join us for Discipleship Now 2020 on March 27 and 28! This will be an awesome weekend of teaching, worship, and fun. Our teaching will focus on Philippians 2:3-4 and challenge students to live out the phrase “I am third”. Our hope and prayer is that our students will grow in their Christlikeness and love towards one another…and to see that putting God first, others second, and themselves third is the best way to live.

HELPFUL RESOURCES

Students

Crosspoint Student Ministry is part of our larger ministry to families, ministering specifically to students in 6th-12th grade. It is our desire to see students connect to God in a growing relationship through Christ. We want to see them develop a love and commitment to the local church and to God’s mission of drawing people to Himself.

Awaken | Sunday nights from 5:00 – 7:00 PM in Room 180: This is our weekly large group gathering that is intended to facilitate fun, fellowship, worship, and growth in horizontal (i.e., with one another) and vertical (i.e.,with God) relationships. At Awaken, we will: eat dinner, play a group game, worship through song, worship through the teaching of God’s Word, and break into small groups (i.e., based on age and gender).

Go | Our desire is to not just gather and grow, but to go! Go opportunities are intended to facilitate such things as: group socials, service projects in our community, student leadership development, and individual/group spiritual growth.
