OUR MISSION

Equipping mature believers to finish strong the race.

Legacy Ministry

However, I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me – the task of testifying of the gospel of God’s grace – Acts 20:24 (NIV)

The Legacy Ministry at Crosspoint is for adults ages 55 and above. We desire that our Legacy Ministry participants would continue to pursue faithful obedience to Christ, invest in younger generations, and leverage their time, talents, resources and wisdom to advance the kingdom as they finish their own race faithfully.

The mission of our Legacy Ministry is to equip mature believers to finish strong the race. We are aiming to help fulfill Crosspoint’s mission to make disciples of all people of God’s glory among those 55 years old and above. We seek to do this through serving on mission, living in community, and training for ministry.

Missions

The hope of our Legacy Ministry is that every participant would utilize their time, talents, resources and wisdom to advance the kingdom of God by living on mission both locally and globally.

At the local level, we desire that our participants would take the gospel to their communities. The Clemson area is growing quickly. Just as there is a great need to reach the growing number of students and young families moving into the Clemson area, there is also a great need to reach the growing number of people 55 years old and above who are living in the greater Clemson community.

At the global level, we desire that our participants would be committed to making disciples and taking the gospel to the ends of the earth. We have many opportunities to go on mission both nationally and internationally, whether as church-wide or special Legacy Ministry mission trips. These mission trips include disaster relief, community outreach, visiting partnering church plants, etc.

Community

God has given us the community of the local church to help us grow and mature in our walks with Christ. The beauty of gospel community is that it brings people of all backgrounds and stages of life together and unites them as a family on the same mission. This means that each Legacy Ministry participant has a unique responsibility to pursue meaningful community with those young and old.

Alongside Corporate Worship and churchwide fellowships, Crosspoint seeks to facilitate biblical community through Small Groups, where believers experience fellowship with each other as they share life together and live daily on mission in their communities. There are many opportunities for those 55 and above to find community, whether through one of the Empty Nester groups or a multi-generational group.

Training

No matter our stage of life, we must continually be learning how to better follow Christ and help others do the same. Alongside Corporate Worship and Small Groups, Crosspoint seeks to accomplish this through EQUIP, which offers classes and forums designed to train believers to live in an explicitly biblical worldview. Through EQUIP, Legacy Ministry participants can be trained theologically and practically in areas relevant to their lives, such as retirement, estate planning, diet, and exercise.

Additionally, we hope that through EQUIP classes our Legacy Ministry participants would invest in younger generations through training and mentorship. There are many opportunities to lead or participate in EQUIP classes alongside college students, young professionals, and families in our church. We hope that Legacy Ministry participants will see their opportunity and responsibility to leave a lasting legacy to other generations for the glory of God.
