Radical Autonomy. Expressive Individualism. My truth.
These terms of self-sufficiency are the air we breathe in our cultural climate.
But Jesus’s death and resurrection transformed His people.
We’re not our own, but are are identified as citizens of heaven who honor Christ with our lives (Phil. 1:20, 27).
We have been formed in a new community as His church who humbly consider others more important than ourselves (Phil. 2:1-5).
And as His church, we carry out our mission in deliberate partnership with other churches, striving side-by-side for the sake of the gospel (Phil. 1:27, 2:29-30, 4:10-18).
We’re excited to introduce our new sermon series, “Side by Side: A Study of the Book of Philippians.” This letter from the Apostle Paul demonstrates the theme of gospel partnerships as Paul cooperates with such churches as Philippi for the advancement of the gospel
Paul’s letter to the Philippians is filled with joy, encouragement, and a clear focus on the shared mission of advancing the gospel.
In this series, we’ll explore how Paul calls the church to stand firm, strive together, and support one another in love and unity for the sake of the gospel.
As we journey through this book, we’ll reflect on how these truths apply to us as we labor side by side within our church and as we consider planting more churches. Together, we’ll consider how we can strengthen our partnerships in ministry, encourage one another in our faith, and press forward in fulfilling the Great Commission.
Join us as we dive into this rich study, growing in our understanding of gospel partnership and renewing our commitment to laboring side by side for the sake of Christ and His mission.
