20 May Sermon Series Introduction: The Exalted Christ

After his resurrection, Jesus appeared to hundreds of people over a forty day period. There was no dispute that he has raised from the dead (Acts 2:32). Then he was gone (Acts 1:9). 

Where did He go?

This was the question thousands of Jewish men and women asked as they assembled in Jerusalem for Pentecost just ten days after Jesus ascended into heaven. You and I may wonder the same thing. Where is Jesus right now and what is He doing? How does His present work affect our lives? 

These are great questions and ones the biblical writers want us to understand. 

Over the next six weeks, we will answer the questions: Who is the exalted Christ and what is He doing today? I think we’ll be encouraged as we see He is very much at work assuring us of our salvation, aiding us in our spiritual growth, and providing us all we need to endure as disciples.
