Generation LINK

To partner with families in making disciples of the next generation.

Family Ministries

Family Ministries at Crosspoint Church includes children ages 0-18 (preschool – high school). At every age, it is our desire to partner with the home as we invest in the next generation. The mission for Family Ministries is consistent with our church’s overall mission, to make disciples of all people for God’s glory. We’ve taken this mission and tailored it to Family Ministries to express our desire to partner with families in making disciples of the next generation. We are convinced that scripture calls parents to be the primary discipler of their children, so we want to come alongside and help you in this incredible role that God has given you.

Child Safety

Background Checks – All Family Ministry volunteers are current covenant church members who have been carefully screened and trained, and have successfully passed a current background check.

Security Tags – Every time you check your child in, we will print them a name tag and give you a corresponding nametag that you will show your child’s teacher when you come to pick them up. This is how we can ensure we get the right children back to the right people. Each child must be picked up by an adult (18yrs or older) and show the correct corresponding nametag to their teacher.

Partnering with Families

What do we mean when we say that we want to partner with families? In Deuteronomy 6, God charged Moses to deliver a message to the Israelites. He charged them to be faithful to worship God alone, to love him with all their heart, soul, and might, and to teach their children to do the same. This charge was not given only to the priests or to Moses, but to each of the households of Israel. This idea is repeated clearly in Psalm 78, where the psalmist exhorts us to teach our children about who our God is in order that they would grow up to then teach their children.

The family is clearly a significant component in God’s strategy to see the message of the gospel reach the ends of the earth. This task has been given to you, and we want to encourage, resource, and support you in it. We do this through our T.I.R. strategy.

OUR T.I.R. Strategy

Train – There are several training opportunities for parents throughout the year, through the preaching of the Scriptures during our corporate worship gatherings on Sunday mornings, Small Group Bible studies offered throughout the week, or our Parent EQUIP classes that seek to encourage and equip you to shepherd your home.

Involve – We want to involve you in all we do. We would love to have you serve in our kids ministry and student ministry. We want to keep open lines of communication with you so will know what we are teaching your kids.

Resource –  Through regular communication, emails, linked articles, book recommendations, and equipping opportunities we want to supply you with resources that will help you fully embrace the opportunity God has given you to disciple the next generation right in your home.

Nursery ministers to children birth – 2 years during Sunday morning worship services. During the nursery hour, children play in a safe environment, hear a Bible lesson from the Gospel Project Curriculum, and sing together. A goldfish snack and water is provided for one and two year olds. Infants and crawlers are given a bottle or a snack if provided by the parents. Our desire is for all young children to be well cared for and to experience the love of Christ while their families attend worship.

Kids Worship ministers to children 3 years – 3rd grade, and meets during each Sunday morning worship service. Please plan to arrive about 10-15 minutes prior to the start of the service so you can check them in at our kids check-in counter. Our incredible team of volunteers looks forward to engaging your kids with the Word of God as they teach them through the scriptures using the Gospel Project Curriculum. This curriculum walks our children through the Bible over a three-year period. Each week your kids will take home a Big Picture card that you can use to review the Bible lesson from that day, discuss the main point, and practice the memory verse.

Children in Kindergarten- 3rd grade are encouraged to check in at the kids check-in counter prior to the start of the service and then attend the worship service in the sanctuary with their parents. Children (K-3rd) will be released to come back to the Kids Worship area after we take up the offering as part of our worship service. We think it’s important for our families to worship together and for our kids to observe how we worship God in song and in generosity.

Kids Connection is a high-energy discipleship program for kids 3yrs-5th grade. On Sunday nights from 5:00-7:00pm, we worship together through song, play games, eat dinner, and engage kids in the scriptures using the Gospel Project Curriculum. There is a $10/child registration fee ($25/family max)that helps cover the cost of each child’s t-shirt and dinner each Sunday night.

Our classes are divided by age and grade. We have a 3’s & 4’s class, a K-1st class, a 2nd-3rd class, and a 4th-5th class. Each class is lead by several trained volunteers who love the Lord and love to mentor and teach children.

Crosspoint Student Ministry is part of our larger ministry to families, ministering specifically to students in 6th-12th grade. It is our desire to see students connect to God in a growing relationship through Christ. We want to see them develop a love and commitment to the local church and to God’s mission of drawing people to Himself. Students are invited to join us for our weekly large group gathering called Awaken.

Awaken meets on Sunday nights from 5:00-7:00pm. During this time, students will grow in their walk with the Lord as they connect relationally with one another, worship together, and discuss what that evening’s teaching showed them about their relationship with God and one other.

SN@TY | During the summer months, our large group gathering changes to “SN@TY”, or “Sunday Nights at the Y.” We meet at Y Beach (275 YMCA Cir, Seneca, SC 29678) from 6:00-8:00pm to enjoy sports, snacks, socializing, and growth in our spiritual walk with Christ.

Our students are encouraged to pursue growth together in both large group and small group environments. Our small group environment helps to equip students to read and apply the scriptures on their own. It is also a great way for our students to experience Christian community, and help encourage one another as they seek to follow Jesus on a daily basis.

Middle School small groups (6th-8th grade) meet at Crosspoint Church on Wednesday nights from 6:30-8:00pm.

High School small groups (9th-12th  grade) meet at Crosspoint Church on Wednesday nights from 6:30-8:00pm.

Summer Studies (6th-12th grade) meets during the summer months at a host home on Wednesday nights from 6:00-8:00pm.
