Deaf Ministry at Crosspoint
** There will be no ASL Interpretation on Sunday, December 16. ASL Interpretation will resume at 9:00 on December 23 **
In August 2010, the Deaf Ministry at Crosspoint Church began with a deaf couple: Ann and Lamar Bayne of Pickens, SC. They were looking for a church where they could attend and as they indicated, “A place where we could worship God.” In light of this need, the ministry was birthed. Alton Brant (professor of American Sign Language [ASL] at Clemson University), along with four Clemson University ASL students (Erica Bieri, Lauren Brock, Heather Mack, and Chase Womick) began the interpreting ministry for the 9:00 am Sunday Worship Service.
In January 2011, a Connecting Point group was established with 4 deaf individuals who meet on Wednesday evenings at 6:30 pm, Room 130, located just behind the Super Taco Restaurant. If you are interested in joining either the Deaf Ministry interpreted worship or the CP group, please make plans to visit with us. If you cannot join us, but have a passion for reaching the Deaf Community for Christ, please pray along with us.
For more information, contact Alton Brant.
